Can I customise the time per question in the AI interviewer?

No, the time per question is fixed at 1 minute by default in one-way interviews and dynamically chosen in two-way interviews.

However, candidates are not required to use the full 1 minute per question.

In one-way interviews, there is a submit button to proceed. In two-way interviews, the AI intelligently detects the response and seamlessly advances to the next question.

Therefore, sitting awkwardly is not mandatory until the timer is gone.
